I was surprised to see the Labour Party Leader, Jeremy Corbyn, choose Warwickshire to launch his party's Police and Crime Commissioner election campaign last month.
Providing security to the people of Warwickshire is a key responsibility of the Police and Crime Commissioner and I'm afraid Mr Corbyn and his party do not understand the meaning of the word.
Jeremy Corbyn wants to put our security at risk by ditching our nuclear deterrent and reducing our spending on defence at an uncertain time in the world.
I served in the Territorial Army for 25 years, rising to the rank of Colonel, and I am currently Chairman of West Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, so I understand security.
If I am given the honour of becoming Warwickshire's next Police and Crime Commissioner I will use my experience to work around the clock to keep residents and families safe and secure.
